A todos nos atraen los lugares abandonados, nos fascinan y nos despiertan gran curiosidad las historias enterradas en el tiempo. Si además nos centramos en parques de atracciones abandonados, la curiosidad es casi hipnotizante dado que lo que en su día arrancaba sonrisas y alegría, ahora es el escenario perfecto para cualquier película de terror.
A continuación os dejo 6 parques de atracciones que seguro no os dejaran indiferentes 😉
Six flags Jazzlan en Nueva Orleans, USA
Un parque de atracciones que fue cerrado tras el paso del Huracán Katrina en 2005 con muchas atracciones destruidas y anegadas. Tras bastantes litigios con la aseguradora y la compañía propietaria, el parque es propiedad ahora de la ciudad de Nueva Orleans.
Gulliver’s Kingdom Theme Park en Kawaguchi, Japón
Un parque de atracciones situado a los pies del Monte Fuji y con una espectacular figura de 45 metros de Gulliver atado en el suelo, que cerró en 2001.
Quizás estar situado muy cerca del bosque Aokigahara, conocido como el bosque del suicidio por ser un lugar donde se suicida mucha gente y tener como vecinos a la secta Aum Shinrikyo, famosos por sus ataques de gas nervioso en Tokio durante el 1995, no fueron una buena decisión para emplazar el parque.
Parque de atracciones de Pripyat , Ucrania
Uno de los más conocidos por ser abandonado junto con toda la ciudad de Pripyat tras la catástrofe de Chernobyl. Su inauguración planificada para el 1 de mayo de 1986, nunca llegó a producirse tras el accidente el 26 de abril y aún hoy, sigue siendo una de las zonas más irradiadas de la ciudad.
Holy Land USA en Connecticut, USA
Un parque de atracciones basado en algunos pasajes de la Biblia que abrió sus puertas en 1958 como lugar de diversión y peregrinación para las diferentes comunidades cristianas que podemos encontrar en Estados Unidos.
Durante los años 60-70 llegó a recibir más de 40.000 visitantes al año. Cerró en 1984 para una renovación y nunca más volvió a abrir sus puertas tras morir su propietario un par de años más tarde.
Los fans de los Simpson seguro recordaran el capítulo donde Ned Flanders construye “Praiseland (Jubilandia en España)” un parque de atracciones en honor a su difunta esposa Maude Flancers. Quien hubiera imaginado que algo así ya había existido…
Dadipark en Dadizel, Bélgica
Lo que empezó siendo un pequeño parque para niños evolucionó hasta convertirse en un parque de atracciones que llegó a recibir más de un millón de visitantes en su mejor año. Los costes de mantenimiento y un accidente en una de sus atracciones más populares donde un niño perdió un brazo en el año 2000, fue el inicio del fin de este parque que estuvo abierto entre 1950 y 2002.
Spreepark en Berlín, Alemania
El más famoso parque de atracciones de Berlín Oriental originalmente se llamó Kulturpark Plänterwald, se inauguró en 1969 y llegó a recibir hasta 1,7 millones de visitantes al año en la época de la RDA. Tras la caída del muro fue adquirido por una empresa privada que lo rebautizó como Spreepark y le añadió nuevas atracciones para darle un estilo más occidental.
Con el paso del tiempo el parque cerró en 2002 con una deuda de 15 millones de euros. Ese mismo año, su propietario Norbert Witte, que se había declarado en quiebra, huyó en secreto a Perú con 6 de las atracciones más importantes con la intención de fundar un nuevo parque en Lima bajo el nombre de “LunaPark”. Un proyecto que también fracasó y en 2004, fue condenado a 7 años de cárcel por intentar introducir de contrabando 180kg de cocaína, en una de las atracciones a su regreso a Alemania.
Años más tarde la familia propietaria, continuó realizando tours guiados para los amantes de los lugares abandonados, hasta que en marzo de este año, la ciudad de Berlín adquirió el parque y lo cerró definitivamente.
Hasta aquí el repaso de hoy, pero teniendo en cuenta la gran cantidad de parques de atracciones abandonados que hay en el mundo y lo mucho que me fascinan, vamos a hablar de ellos de vez en cuando

Wow! I drove by this weekend. I am new to NO. After reading this its so sad . A Nickelodeon style theme park would be cool but the surrounding neighborhood is BAD BAD BAD. That’s probably why no one will invest. Too bad some humans have no respect for themselves, others or property. Whoever-or whatever lives in that neighborhood must be animals! Its a mess.

yep got arrested here. came from florida to celebrate st. patrick’s day, tagged along with friends who heard about. none of us even knew it was trespassing. the cops love the money they get from the fines.

I also saw this piece much brighter with color, unless someone used it in a piece of collage I’ve seen. I loved your clown since my eyes first saw it. I am not afraid of clowns but understand some people are, to a great extent and just as many that love them so Yeah for all the Clowns in the universe.

When I worked in Covington our clients were in Chalmette. I passed that place so many times but never thought to walk in the place.I have some crappy photos from the road and they’re nothing like this, very nice work!

I had used Picasa at the time but just got Photoshop and wanted to reprocess it with a darker feel. Ok, just figured out what the deal is with the flickr weirdness u mentioned before: if I reprocess a previously posted, etc, I occasionally change the date so it shows on my front page, that’s why it wasn’t showing on your side…

Reminds me of the poem "Ozymandias" by Shelly. There’s a line that runs; " … on the sand, half-sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown and wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command, tell that its sculptor well those passions read." Talk about coulrophopia!!! (I think that’s what they call fear of clowns?).
